In our last post on Affiliate marketing, we kind of got you up to speed on everything, but today I want to talk about an approach you can use immediately (if you’ve already started building your list), that will allow you to start making money as quickly as possible – with as little effort as possible: sound good?
Ok, we want to be doing a few things here – let’s recap on these points from the ‘Affiliate Marketing Phase One’ post:
1. We want to be building our list (that’s always first right)
2. We want to be making money (simple enough)
3. We want to be building a stronger relationship with our list members and creating incredible value (this is the only way to build a solid, long term, profitable business)
and 4. We want to be paying attention to, and tracking our data so that we know what types of products and services we should be creating in the future (find a hungry crowd (we’ve done that)… and feed them – but more importantly… feed them what they’re hungry for (they’ll eat more :)
And here’s how we’ll accomplish all of those things – If you’re an IM Success Map member, you’ll have some video walkthrough’s on these steps – so everything is super clear, but in this post I want to give you a ‘birds eye’ view so you understand how all the pieces fit together, and so everything makes sense.
So… let’s get into it:

Another quick ‘Productivity’ post today, then I’m gonna take a day off :) Good news is, I’ll be back online next week with a brand new post on Affiliate Marketing – picking up where we left off from Part 1, so keep an eye out for that!
For today, I have an interesting fact I think you might find interesting…
Fact: ‘to do’ lists are an ineffective management tool, and I can show you how, by ditching them right now, you can get far more done in less time – and you can switch your habits and master a better technique in just 5 minutes from now.
I’ve discovered that ‘to do’ lists are actually just a holding cell for a bunch of stuff that I don’t really know how to organize and prioritize – that’s not what we’re after!
It’s been proven that using similar ‘catch all’ lists like this can cause more confusion, and actually decrease efficiency – so I stopped using them.

Well, I gotta’ admit… I’m really missing Fringe being on the DVR this week :(
Becoming effective each day comes down to what you can accomplish in the next 15 minutes to an hour. It’s that simple, and I’ll show you how to get more done in the next 15 minutes than you’re likely getting done by the hour right now.
Increasing your effectiveness is as simple as planning better in the ‘right now’. Here’s the key:
At the beginning of each hour you need to chart out exactly what you’re going to do, in the order of importance, and you need to hold yourself accountable to getting it done – period. Imagine there is no ‘just another 5 minutes’… At the end of 60 minutes, you’re either done – or your toast.
So it’s really that simple. Make a realistic plan for what you know you can accomplish in the next hour (and don’t be lenient on yourself… push the boundaries of what you think you’re capable of, or you’ll never grow), and get it done. Use a mechanical kitchen timer that makes that little annoying ticking sound (which I love :) It will keep you focused and in the moment.
Hope it helps,
Mike
